Everything traders ask us before their first shipment — pricing, transit times, documents and buying containers. Can't find it here? Ask our team directly.

Getting started

General & pricing.

How much does shipping from UAE to Pakistan cost?

The cost depends on container type (LCL by CBM vs a full 20ft/40ft container), cargo weight and volume, the destination port (Karachi vs Port Qasim), seasonal carrier surcharges, and whether you need door-to-door delivery and customs clearance included. Because these factors change frequently, we quote per shipment rather than publish a fixed rate — get an instant quote and we'll respond within one business hour.

How long does sea freight from Dubai to Iraq take?

Sailings from Jebel Ali to Umm Qasr typically take around 6–9 days transit, depending on the carrier's routing and whether the vessel calls at intermediate ports. Add 1–3 days for customs clearance at destination for a realistic door-to-door estimate. See our UAE to Iraq shipping guide.

Which shipping company is best for Egypt?

Look for a forwarder with an established presence at your destination port (Alexandria, Damietta or Sokhna), transparent all-in pricing, and in-house customs brokerage rather than a subcontracted agent. KWK Shipping operates FCL, LCL and container-sales services into all three Egyptian gateways with a single point of contact from Dubai through to delivery.

How do I get a shipping quote?

Use our instant quote form with your origin, destination, cargo type and volume, or message us directly on WhatsApp. Our team typically responds with an all-in rate within one business hour.

What countries does KWK Shipping serve?

We operate ocean freight, customs clearance and inland transport corridors connecting the UAE with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Oman, and sell containers into Pakistan, India, China, Egypt, Sudan, Türkiye, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq — with partner coverage extending to Kenya and Somalia. See our Global Network page for the full route map.

Ocean freight

FCL, LCL & transit.

What is the difference between LCL and FCL?

FCL (Full Container Load) reserves an entire container exclusively for your cargo — faster, more secure, and more cost-effective from roughly half a container upward. LCL (Less than Container Load) consolidates multiple shippers' cargo into one container and is priced by CBM, making it economical for smaller shipments.

Does KWK Shipping handle both FCL and LCL shipments?

Yes — we run dedicated FCL bookings with priority equipment allocation and weekly LCL consolidations from key origins, so you can choose whichever fits your cargo volume and budget. See our Services page for both.

Do you ship personal effects, not just commercial cargo?

Yes. Alongside commercial B2B freight, we handle B2C personal-effects and household-goods shipments, typically via LCL consolidation, with the same customs and delivery support as commercial cargo.

Container sales

Buying a container.

How do I buy a shipping container in Dubai?

Choose your container type and size on our containers page, tell us the quantity and delivery destination, and our team confirms availability, inspection status and an all-in price — usually within one business hour.

How much does a 20ft container cost?

A 20ft standard dry container starts from around $1,450 depending on condition (new/one-trip vs certified-used), stock availability and delivery location. Request a quote for a firm, current price.

Can I rent a shipping container?

KWK Shipping specialises in container sales — new and certified-used Dry, High-Cube, Reefer, Open-Top and Flat-Rack units — rather than short-term leasing. If you need a container long-term, buying is usually the more cost-effective option; talk to us about your use case and we'll advise honestly.

Which container type is best for my cargo?

Standard Dry suits general and palletised cargo; High-Cube adds extra internal height for bulky, lightweight goods; Reefer is required for perishables and temperature-sensitive pharma (−30°C to +30°C); Open-Top and Flat-Rack handle over-height, oversized or heavy machinery loads. Share your cargo's dimensions and weight and we'll recommend the right box.

Customs & documents

Compliance & paperwork.

What documents are required to ship a container internationally?

As a baseline you'll need a commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading (or sea waybill). Depending on the cargo and destination, you may also need a certificate of origin, an import/export licence or permit, an insurance certificate, and any product-specific certifications (e.g. health or phytosanitary certificates). We confirm the exact document set for your route and cargo before booking.

How long does customs clearance take?

With complete, accurate documentation submitted in advance, customs release typically takes 1–3 working days in the corridors we serve. Missing paperwork, physical inspection holds, or unpaid duties are the most common causes of delay.
